Assignment

Your Task: Rewrite the hospital scene where Johnny's mother comes to visit. In your version, the nurse does not turn her away, but lets her in the room. Imagine Johnny's reaction. What would Johnny's mother say to him? What would Johnny say to her?

You are writing part of a narrative, not a script. Sentences, punctuation, and paragraphs should appear the way it would in a book. Use the book or passage above as an example. Pay special attention to the dialogue and how the author starts a new paragraph each time she changes speakers.

The nurse lets his mother in anyways,
“Nurse!” Johnny said angrily “ I told you not to let her in!”
“Johnny oh my sweet little boy, why did you run away? I was heartbroken when I found out you were in here?” The mother was confused, her little boy Johnny was hurt and didn’t know what to think.
“Nurse get my mother out now I never wanted her in here in the first place!”
“Why do you want me to leave? What did I do honey?”
“What you did is you hit me. I don’t like that all. Have you notice I am not home a lot, it’s because you and dad hurt me and I hate it.” The nurse was shocked that he was hit and thought he was being abused. The nurse pulled his mother out and was crying in so many tears while she was being pulled out .The nurse figured he was still mad so she stayed out of the room.

“Why did she let her in?” Johnny said confused and still feeling angry.
