Assignment

Your Task: Rewrite the hospital scene where Johnny's mother comes to visit. In your version, the nurse does not turn her away, but lets her in the room. Imagine Johnny's reaction. What would Johnny's mother say to him? What would Johnny say to her?

You are writing part of a narrative, not a script. Sentences, punctuation, and paragraphs should appear the way it would in a book. Use the book or passage above as an example. Pay special attention to the dialogue and how the author starts a new paragraph each time she changes speakers.

chapter 8
     a nurse appeared in the doorway . " Johnny," she said quietly , " your mother's here to see you .'
       Johnny opened his eyes . at first they were wide with surprise, then they darkened . " i dont want to see her,' he said firmly
       " she's your mother .
               when my mother came in teh room he freaked out . nothing went bad till he actually noticed it was her . then he flipped out an told her to get out . he was slowly dieing but he dont want her there no matter what then all of a sudden he started shaking and then instantly all his doctors ran in the room and was trying to help him . and nothing was helping ,
    then he SCREAMED  NOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!! and then  his mom got kicked out because he kept yelling at her to get out but she was still in the room trying to help and she was crying . \
     next thing you know HES DEAD and will never be forgotten and his mom didnt get to say his last goodbye but was there when he died . but she said goodbye even though he hated her because she was rude to him always . and she felt bad but she said goodbye son . and he was dead .
