The Outsiders should not be banned from schools or libraries. My reasoning is it was made by a teenager for teenagers. Also its like how things are today. It’s basically stating that money isn't all that easy to get. Although it may include gang situations and the use of alcohol and drugs , Students are going to be aware of those substances sometime in their life. Although it seems like it’s a bad book and It should be banned , It shouldn’t. Drugs are all apart of our everyday life. It states in the text, "It was challenged in the Boone, Iowa School District because the book was seen as glamorizing smoking and drinking and uses excessive violence and obscenities." Yes, It’s a book but to some people violence happens everyday. Nowadays kids want to fight kids for what they post on Facebook. That is why The Outsiders should not be banned. Although it does have some bad stuff in it. Its still a good book and explains the point of view of a kid who was raised that way.
