As soon as the nurse let Johnny's mom in the room there was nothing but silence. Johnny looked so shocked. His face was pale and his mouth was in the shape of an o. His mom walked over and stood at the side of the bed. “How are you feeling” she asked. Knowing she didn’t really care he answered "not good."

“I have one question for you Johnny, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!" and with that being said she flew into a violent rage. All Johnny could think is I wish I wasn’t here I wish I wasn’t. “You stupid juvenile delinquent," she yelled. Then security came into the room. They escorted her out of the hospital. She was never allowed back in there again. Later that afternoon Ponyboy came back to see Johnny. He was sad about what had happened earlier. Ponyboy comforted him then went home.
