Assignment

Your Task: Rewrite the hospital scene where Johnny's mother comes to visit. In your version, the nurse does not turn her away, but lets her in the room. Imagine Johnny's reaction. What would Johnny's mother say to him? What would Johnny say to her?

You are writing part of a narrative, not a script. Sentences, punctuation, and paragraphs should appear the way it would in a book. Use the book or passage above as an example. Pay special attention to the dialogue and how the author starts a new paragraph each time she changes speakers.

dont end it

                                               chapter 8
                                          
                                     The nurse walked in when I was talking to Johnny and she said Johnny your mother is here and he said no I don't what to see her and he started cry I have never seen him cry but his eyes looked glossy and he stood up and turned and ran to the door and when out and he screams at his mom for hours then she quietly leaves and he tells me to leave to

                                  A  week later I was reading the paper and I flipped to the obituary and I saw a picture of Johnny saying  this greaser committed  suicide  because he was sick of the separation of greasers and socs so he took the life support off and he cut himself open with a fork and then they buried him at the graveyard under a large oak tree and we come and talk to him all the time .
