Assignment

Your Task: Rewrite the hospital scene where Johnny's mother comes to visit. In your version, the nurse does not turn her away, but lets her in the room. Imagine Johnny's reaction. What would Johnny's mother say to him? What would Johnny say to her?

You are writing part of a narrative, not a script. Sentences, punctuation, and paragraphs should appear the way it would in a book. Use the book or passage above as an example. Pay special attention to the dialogue and how the author starts a new paragraph each time she changes speakers.

The book The Outsiders is a novel written by S.E Hinton at the age of 15 and got published when she was 18 and it was set in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The book contains two rival groups, The Greasers and The Socs.

I think the book The Outsiders shouldn't be banned from libraries nor schools because people need a chance to read the book. Maybe not necessarily really young kids but like teens/adults. It gives a good theme and it shows how poverty, like real life problems can impact on a teen's life. It's perfect for explaining to us that other people have it worse than what we think we do.
